Bishop Sales Fall 23% as Losses Hit $38,000

Bishop Graphics said it lost $38,000, or 2 cents a share, in the second quarter ended March 31 as sales fell 23% to $2.6 million. A year earlier, the company earned $41,000, or 2 cents a share, on sales of $3.4 million.

The Westlake Village company, which makes drafted supplies used in designing printed circuit boards, said the lower sales and earnings were caused in part by increased automation of printed circuit board designing.

For the six months, the company lost $142,000, or 6 cents a share, as sales fell 20% to $5.1 million from the year-earlier period.
