MOSCOW —
A Soviet icebreaker has begun evacuating personnel from a research station that was adrift near the North Pole, the official media reported. The atomic-powered icebreaker Sibir traveled more than 1,700 miles to reach Station North Pole-27, the government newspaper Izvestia and the Tass news agency announced.
