A twin-engine plane owned by the Bolivian state oil company, YPFB, crashed in southeast Bolivia, killing 14 of its 16 occupants, authorities said. The Twin Otter aircraft crashed within minutes of takeoff from the oil town of Camiri, 315 miles southeast of the capital of La Paz, Aeronautics Minister Jaime Zegada said. The plane was flying workers to Santa Cruz, Bolivia’s second-largest city, Zegada said. Preliminary reports indicated the aircraft may have crashed because of bad weather, he said.
