3 French Air Force Jets Collide in Fog; 2 Die

LYON, France —
Three French air force Mirage F-1 jet fighters collided in fog on a low-altitude training mission Wednesday, killing at least two pilots, the Defense Ministry said.
Two bodies were found at the crash site in a forest near the village of Pelussin in southeast-central France about 14 miles east of St. Etienne, authorities said. It was not immediately known if the third pilot died in the crash or parachuted to safety.
