The first funeral for victims of the tornado in Saragosa, Tex., was conducted in Pecos. St. Katherine’s Catholic Church was filled to overflowing with mourners for Elsa Herrera, 25, and her 1-year-old son, Jonathan. Services for two other victims, originally planned for Monday, will instead be held today with services for the remaining 25 victims at a Roman Catholic Mass in Saragosa, followed by another Mass at the cemetery at neighboring Balmorhea. More than 1,000 people gathered in the devastated town for a rosary service.
