Five Broadway musicals, including “Cats,” “South Pacific” and “Me and My Girl” have been booked for the Orange County Performing Arts Center’s 1987-88 season, officials for the Costa Mesa facility announced Wednesday.

The other two musicals are “My One and Only” with Tommy Tune and Stephanie Zimbalist, and Cole Porter’s “Can-Can,” featuring the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, Center President Thomas R. Kendrick and theatrical agent Miles Wilkin said in a joint announcement.

Robert Goulet has been signed to star in “South Pacific,” and “Me and My Girl,” a revival of a 1927 musical, will feature Tim Curry, according to Wilkin, president of the New York-based PACE Theatrical Group,

Of the five shows, “Me and My Girl” is the only one now on on Broadway. The other productions are touring versions of shows popular in recent Broadway seasons, or revivals packaged by PACE outside of New York to meet the demand of regional arts centers such as the facility in Costa Mesa.

No date was announced for “Cats,” but the other shows were scheduled for the following dates:

--”My One and Only”--Oct. 21-25.

--”South Pacific”--Jan. 5-10.

--”Me and My Girl”--May 3-8.

--”Can Can”--July 26-31.

Center officials said subscriptions are available by mail for the full series of five musicals or for a four-show series, which would not include “My One and Only.” Ticket prices range from $64 for the least expensive seats for the four-show series to $187 for the most expensive seats for the full series.
