MSI Data Reports Jump in Earnings

MSI Data Corp., a Costa Mesa manufacturer of portable data collection systems, reported fiscal 1987 net earnings of $1.3 million, a nearly eightfold increase from the $172,000 reported for the prior fiscal year. Revenues for the 12 months ended March 28 were $70.7 million, up 13% from $62.5 million a year earlier.

For the fourth quarter, MSI reported net earnings of $659,000, more than double the $288,000 reported a year earlier. Revenues for the quarter of $21 million were up 27% from the year-earlier $16.5 million.
