Sour Traffic Note at Jazz Festival

Share

On Sunday (May 17), I was one of thousands who bought tickets for the Queen Mary Jazz Festival, only to be turned away from the parking lot and redirected back over the bridge. Traffic sat at a dead standstill for more than an hour as we tried to get into a municipal parking lot that closed behind us, leaving many others stranded.

If promoters cannot demonstrate that they can provide adequate facilities for the ticket-buying public, then they should not be permitted to hold such events. It is certainly a sad day when one of the few good opportunities to see jazz in Southern California is befouled by such an experience. Let’s hope the Queen Mary promoters can pull their act together before next year so it can be a positive experience for all.
