Americans will pay more for Toyotas and Hondas.

Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. and the Acura division of American Honda Motor Co. said they plan to raise their U.S. prices because of the continued strength of the Japanese yen against the dollar. Honda said it will raise prices for its Acura division automobiles by an average 1.4%, or $232 per vehicle, effective today. Toyota announced plans to raise retail prices on 1987 model cars by an average 1.8%, or $214, effective immediately.
