Hollywood Designer Howard Shoup Dies

Howard Shoup, who was nominated for five Academy Awards for costume design in a 30-year career, died Friday at the Motion Picture Country and Television Home in Woodland Hills. He was 83.
From 1959 to 1965 he was nominated for his work in “The Young Philadelphians,” “The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond,” “Claudelle Inglish,” “Kisses for My President” and “A Rage to Live.”
A funeral service will be held Saturday at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in West Los Angeles.
