It appears that the March “Entertainment Summit” that brought together Soviet and American film makers will bear some practical fruit, after all. The American-Soviet Film Initiative, to be formally announced June 16, will be established as an American nonprofit corporation that will serve a primarily advisory function, according to Mark Gerzon, who organized the summit. Board members from the American and Soviet chapters will “develop a variety of programs which will serve the film industries and viewing publics of both the host countries,” according to Gerzon.
