Bobby Rahal slipped past Michael Andretti nine laps from the end and went on to an easy victory in the second round of the International Race of Champions at Lexington, Ohio.
Wally Dallenbach Jr. was second, and Andretti held off defending race and series champion Al Unser Jr. for third.
Geoff Bodine, the NASCAR stock car driver who won the IROC opener in February at Daytona Beach, Fla., started last--with the starting lineup the inverse of the Daytona finish--and wound up fifth.
That allowed Bodine to retain the points lead in the $635,500 series heading into the race Aug. 1 at Michigan International Speedway. The final event will be Aug. 8 at Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Bodine has 36 points, followed by Rahal with 31 and Dallenbach with 28.
