The U.S. Senate Friday confirmed the appointments of Archie Purvis, an ABC distribution vice president from Woodland Hills, and three others to the board of directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the primary organization charged with the growth and development of public broadcasting in the United States. The four Reagan appointments bring the board to eight, leaving two seats vacant. Other new members are William Lee Hanley Jr., 47, of Greenwich, Conn.; Sheila Tate, 45, former press secretary to Nancy Reagan, and Marshall Turner, 45, of San Francisco.
