A payroll supervisor accused of taking more than $116,000 in company funds was sued Wednesday by her former employer, Morton Thiokol Inc., and its subsidiary, Dynachem Division of Tustin, for $1 million.

The suit, filed in Orange County Superior Court, alleges that Eva McBride, a Buena Park resident, “misappropriated and diverted” company funds to her personal bank and credit card accounts during her three years with the company. The plaintiffs seek about $1 million in punitive damages and interest on the funds they say were misappropriated.

McBride, fired March 13, is accused along with five unnamed defendants in the Dynachem payroll department of misappropriating at least $116,376. According to the lawsuit, McBride forged endorsements on checks drawn on Dynachem’s account to different people and deposited them into her personal accounts.

On March 13, the lawsuit says, Dynachem officials demanded that defendants return the money but that they refused.

McBride could not be reached for comment.
