Racial Slur Results in Jail Term for Terrorism

A Glendale man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in county jail after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of terrorism for taping a threatening note to the door of a black woman who lived in the same apartment building.
Glendale Municipal Court Commissioner Daniel Calabro also placed Jack A. Ferreira, 45, on three years’ probation and ordered him to perform 200 hours of community service.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Phil Heeger said Ferreira taped the note containing a racial slur and threat to the neighbor’s door in March. She reported it to police and subsequently moved.
