Two supervisors have been assigned to the air traffic control center in Aurora, Ill., after a recent mix-up of jetliners during a chaotic evening over Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, the FAA said. The supervisors will “ensure corrective measures” if airport controllers fail to follow procedures for keeping departing airplanes a safe distance apart, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said. The Aurora center, one of a number of regional control centers, tracks planes until they are about 25 miles from the airport.
