The Reagan Administration plans to continue covert aid to the Angolan rebels by providing at least $15 million in arms this year, the New York Times reported. The newspaper, quoting government officials, said the Administration hopes the additional aid to the anti-Communist rebels led by Jonas Savimbi will pressure Angola’s Marxist government to send home 35,000 Cuban troops. But it also said that Angolan officials have said the aid might make their country all the more reluctant to give up the Cuban assistance. The newspaper said the aid would include Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.
