Share

A woman who died after being booked into the Long Beach Jail on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs may have suffered from epilepsy. Long Beach police Lt. Jim Reed said Paula Michelle Henderson, 26, was arrested Saturday afternoon. Shortly after midnight, he said, she complained to a jail security officer that she did not feel well and a doctor prescribed medication. A few minutes later, Reed said, a jail security officer noticed Henderson having an apparent seizure. Paramedics were called and said she appeared to be in full cardiac arrest. They performed CPR and took her to St. Mary Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
