Jessica Lange has given birth to her first son and third child, a spokeswoman said. The baby, born Sunday, was named Samuel Walker Shepard, said Lange’s publicist, Lisa Kasteler. Mother and baby were fine, she said. The boy weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. The child is the second born to the Academy Award-winning Lange, 38, and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Sam Shepard, who are not married and live in rural Virginia. The couple have a daughter, Hannah Jane, born in January, 1986. The actress has another daughter, 5-year-old Alexandra, by ballet superstar Mikhail Baryshnikov.
