Changes in U.S. in Last 8 Years

Share

Things have changed in the last eight years.

In Rome, a car bomb is detonated beside the U.S. Embassy.

In Venice, the American President is hustled in the side door of a summit meeting while all others enter the old-fashioned way--by the front door.

At the same time, American flags are being burned in Sweden.

Americans are held in contempt worldwide in areas where they were formerly respected.

Americans can no longer safely drive down the scenic Pan American highway to Panama.

Family farms from coast to coast are being foreclosed on while corporate farms prosper.

Our nonproductive “service-oriented” economy is teetering on the brink of disaster.

Productive jobs are scarce--jobs selling insurance and financial services are plentiful, as are jobs selling hamburgers at minimum wage.

Things have changed in the past eight years--I don’t think we’re standing tall enough.
