London Hospital Medical College today rejected a revised, $1-million offer by rock star Michael Jackson for the remains of Britain’s Elephant Man, John Merrick, who died in 1900.

Merrick’s remains are housed at the hospital, which a few months ago turned down a previous offer by the singer. Jackson’s agent said he did not want to make money out of the remains but was fascinated by their technical, medical and historical significance.
