Prospective candidates for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Board of Education in the November elections will be offered a briefing by current members at an open meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the board room at the Valmonte Administration Center, 3801 Via La Selva, Palos Verdes Estates. Spokeswoman Nancy Mahr said the briefing will cover the duties and responsibilities of the post, the time usually required and other aspects of public service. Board members serve without pay.
Trustee Martin C. Dodell, who has served six years on the board, has said he will not seek another term. The other board position to be filled in November is held by Jack H. Bagdasar, who is completing his first four-year term. He has not said whether he will run for reelection.
