S. M. Mountains : 20-Acre Canyon Park to Open

The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy will dedicate a 20-acre park June 25 on land donated by actor Warren Beatty.
Dixie Canyon Park, north of Mulholland Drive at Sumatra Drive in Los Angeles, will link Mulholland to Ventura Boulevard by a hiking trail that is expected to be built within a year. Dixie Canyon is lined with California oak trees, and a year-round stream flows through it. The dedication ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.
