Deeply Touched

Marilyn Oliver’s poignant article touched me deeply (“In the Face of Alzheimer’s Disease, a Mother’s Love, Caring Still Exist,” Other Views, June 15). The tender love expressed by this daughter of an aging mother with Alzheimer’s disease revealed the agony of her circumstances, but also the wonderful capacity to surmount this despair with love and caring.

Thank you, Marilyn Oliver, for helping me to appreciate my own blessings, a wonderful 96-year-old mom still capable of living alone and still giving love to a loving family. May Oliver continue to feel the warmth of her mother’s love.
