Israel has agreed to return to Egypt 572 antique pieces excavated from the Sinai desert when the region was under Israeli occupation, the Cairo newspaper Al Ahram reported Sunday. The pieces, dug up by Israeli archaeologists after the Sinai was taken over by Israel in the Six-Day War of 1967, have been on display in a Tel Aviv museum. The antiquities include a bronze statue of the bull Ibis dating to 664-525 B.C. and a collection of bronze statues of the god Amun-Ra.
