New York’s Metropolitan Opera House plans to beef up its security for this summer’s three-week run of performances by the Bolshoi Ballet. Cash customers will be required to present identification and provide their addresses if they want tickets to the June 30-July 18 performances. “We’re not running a security check on these people,” Met spokesman David Reuben said Friday. “The idea is, in case there is any sort of problem, to contact people who could help us, as witnesses or whatever.” Soviet artists and companies visiting New York have been the target of harassment during recent years, Reuben said.
