The American Medical Assn. called for mandatory AIDS-virus tests of immigrants and prison inmates, and endorsed lessons about the deadly disease for elementary school pupils. At the AMA’s annual meeting in Chicago, policy makers for the 271,000-member organization debated less than half an hour before adopting, virtually unchanged, 17 recommendations from an AMA board of trustees’ report released Saturday.
