60 Tourists Climb Out of Royal Gorge on Ladder

CANON CITY, Colo. — Sixty tourists were stranded and had to make their way hundreds of feet up an emergency ladder when two cars jammed on the incline railway at the Royal Gorge. No injuries were reported Tuesday in what officials said was the first major mechanical failure in the rail ride, which takes tourists to the bottom of the 1,000-foot-deep gorge.
