Reagan to Undergo Colon Examination
President Reagan will undergo an examination of his colon Friday to check for any recurrence of the cancer found in a growth removed during surgery two years ago, the White House said Wednesday.
The announcement said the routine six-month follow-up exam will be conducted in the office of White House physician John Hutton. He will be joined by Dr. Robert Beart of the Rochester, Minn., Methodist Hospital and Dr. Oliver Beahrs of Mayo Clinic. Beart and Beahrs were on the team that operated on Reagan’s prostate in January.
