Home Group will buy a regional brokerage firm.

The parent of Home Insurance Co. has agreed to acquire the New York-based investment company Gruntal Financial Corp. in a deal valued at $145 million, the companies announced. Gruntal, which was founded in 1888, has 32 offices in the eastern United States and reported profit of $9 million and revenue of $193 million in the year ended last Aug. 31. Home Group, also based in New York, is a financial services company.
