Susan Merge, an assistant vice president at Coldwell Banker Commercial Group, has been installed as president of the South Bay chapter of Women in Management. She is a member of the Personnel and Industrial Relations Assn. and Big Sisters of Los Angeles and is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The League of Women Voters of the Beach Cities has elected Linda Mack of Manhattan Beach president. The league serves Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hawthorne and El Segundo. Doris Rosenberg and Pam Paradissis were elected vice presidents. Mignon Murphy will continue to serve as secretary and Peggy Bartlett as treasurer.

The Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce has installed Dan Juarez, manager of Surveillance Audits TRW Electronics and Defense, as president. Serving with him are John LoCoco, assistant controller of Hawthorne Savings and Caroline Lott, community relations representative for Northrop’s Aircraft Division, vice presidents, and developer Bob Marsella, treasurer.

D. Loring Marlett of Rancho Palos Verdes, former chief executive of Great Lakes Properties and recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal from the U.S. Department of the Interior for public service, has been elected national co-chairman of the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He has been on the national executive board since 1982 and has served as co-chairman of the Southern California Region. The 59-year-old organization promotes interracial and interreligious understanding.
