Donations poured in Saturday to help residents rebuild from the ruins left by a fireball after an airplane slammed into the neighborhood, killing the pilot and injuring three people on the ground, officials said.

“People are completely overgenerous,” said Margaret O’Driscoll, a secretary at St. Mark’s Church, which is coordinating relief efforts.

Three houses and six cars were destroyed and four other houses were damaged in the Friday morning crash of the twin-engine airplane.

A memorial service was planned today for the pilot, Peter Covich, 21, of Nashua, N.H.
