BEIRUT — Lebanon’s monthly death toll dropped sharply in June to its lowest level in three years.
Police, hospital and militia sources said Wednesday that 60 people died violently last month, the lowest toll since March, 1983, and down from 123 people in May.
Casualties from violence have fallen steadily since Syrian forces moved into West Beirut in February in a security drive to end bitter fighting between rival militias.
