With the announcement of LeVar Burton to play a blind crewman aboard the coming “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” all I have to say is here we go again. It’s a good bet that his social humanity in the new “Trek” will be no better than was Nichelle Nichols’ token Uhura character in the old TV series, or Herb Jefferson’s sexless Boomer in the ill-fated “Battlestar Galactica.”
