U.S. Atty. Roy Hayes said in Detroit that he will look into reports that General Motors Corp. employees rolled back odometers on test-driven vehicles at a plant in Pontiac, Mich. Meanwhile, executives of GM’s Truck & Bus Group, which oversees the plant, said they were conducting an internal investigation to verify weekend reports in the Oakland Press, a Pontiac newspaper. The report follows the June 24 indictment of Chrysler Corp. in St. Louis on fraud charges of testing vehicles with disconnected odometers.
