Share

A Colombian national living in Burbank has been indicted on charges that she produced counterfeit Social Security cards and birth certificates that illegal aliens could use to get jobs, federal officials said today.

U.S. Atty. Robert C. Bonner said the case is “part of an alarming increase” in production and sale of bogus documents for illegal aliens to use in deceiving American employers under terms of the new amnesty law. Authorities said they seized 587 counterfeit Puerto Rican birth certificates and 12 counterfeit Social Security cards, as well as a blank Social Security negative and two printing presses when they arrested Maria Hernandez De Franco, 40, on July 1.
