A Sacramento man shot to death the man he blamed for the loss of his job, mortally wounded the victim’s son and then took his own life. Police said Daniel Darrington, 40, was fired by the Clough Equipment Co. of West Sacramento after a fistfight with Floyd Ballinger, 60. Nursing a grudge, police said, Darrington drove to the Clough plant, got out and opened fire on Ballinger with a .44-caliber revolver, killing him. He then fired at Ballinger’s son, Wayne, who was lying on the ground nearby. Wayne Ballinger died later. Police said Darrington then went to his car, put the gun to his temple and shot himself.
