Egyptian Foreign Minister Esmat Abdel Meguid will hold two days of talks in Israel next week on convening an international Mideast peace conference, making it the highest level Egyptian visit to the nation’s one-time foe since President Hosni Mubarak took office six years ago. Meguid’s office gave no details of his two-day visit to Tel Aviv, including his day of departure, but sources said he will try to boost efforts to get the proposed U.N.-sponsored peace effort off the ground. He is expected to meet Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
