Share

Lebanese authorities arrested a Christian Lebanese army technician in connection with the June 1 assassination of Premier Rashid Karami, a Sunni Muslim. Judicial investigator Walid Ghamra ordered Sgt. Ibrahim Dagher, 30, held in solitary confinement after a five-hour interrogation. The pro-Syrian Karami was killed by a bomb placed aboard the Lebanese army helicopter that was flying him from from northern Lebanon to Beirut. Dagher was a technician at the Adma air base, where the French-made helicopter was parked before it picked up Karami.
