Demonstration at Ezell’s House
As a naturalized citizen of this great country, I not only have the right but I feel it is also my duty to speak up for something in which I believe. Misunderstandings and deleted segments of the conversation with the reporters lead to newspaper articles not representing my views correctly. Since silence implies agreement, I feel the need to speak up.
I would like to see our government make legal entry into this country less complicated, and illegal entry impossible. If all immigrants would enter this country legally, learn the language and pay their taxes, the need for amnesty, the divided-family issue and fear of deportation would not exist.
I do understand the fear that families must feel who are affected by the divided-family issue. Nevertheless, I cannot believe that our government would willfully separate families. This country is giving the illegal immigrant a great opportunity to become a citizen.
Anyone entering this country without permission is breaking the law; therefore, they must expect to pay the consequences.
The demonstration in front of the home of Harold Ezell, Immigration and Naturalization Service commissioner, was unwarranted. He did not make the law. He only follows it. If that makes him the “bad guy,” then this country is headed for trouble.
