Israel has successfully test-fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching “all potential hostile capitals,” International Defense Review magazine reported. Quoting official U.S. sources, the Geneva-based monthly said the Jericho rocket traveled 500 miles in May, double its previous distance. Bob Furlong, spokesman for the magazine, said the missile “is designed exclusively for a nuclear warhead” but that Israel refused to comment. Israel has said repeatedly that it has no nuclear weapons. Beirut, Damascus and Cairo are within a 500-mile range.
