Diana’s New Honor: Sheepdriving Rights

LONDON —
Princess Diana became a freeman of the City of London today, giving her the right to drive sheep across London Bridge.
Diana, 26, received the title at the Guildhall in a ceremony dating from 1275.
Nowadays the title is honorary, but Diana recalled that it still carries the right of sheepdriving. “I promise I will give good warning before I avail myself of this privilege,” she said.
