Ultrasystems Receives $51 Million in Contracts

Ultrasystems Inc., an Irvine-based engineering and development services company, said it has received about a dozen contracts, totaling $51 million, from the Department of Defense and private firms.

The company’s new defense contracts, which total $32 million, involve engineering and integration of military satellite systems and development of computer simulation programs, including one contract related to the “Star Wars” program.

Non-defense contracts, which total $19 million, involve expansion of a chemical-mixing facility in Orange County, installation of waste treatment systems at several refineries and The Geysers geothermal plant in Northern California, construction of utility plants and operation and maintenance of four power plants under construction by Ultrasystems.
