The United States will delay branding Iceland a violator of an international whaling treaty, postponing a possible embargo on $200 million worth of Icelandic fish shipments. U.S. and Icelandic officials also said after two days of talks in Washington that Iceland will continue a moratorium on taking endangered fin and sei whales pending another round of talks. Late last month, the International Whaling Commission ordered Iceland not to continue whaling for research purposes.
