MIA Emissary to Visit Hanoi

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan is sending former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. John Vessey to Hanoi next week to discuss the fate of Americans missing in action from the Vietnam War, the White House announced today.
Vessey, newly appointed as the President’s special emissary for prisoner of war and missing in action issues, will be in Vietnam Aug. 1-3, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said.
