Floodwaters receded in South Korea, and tens of thousands of relief workers moved in to search for bodies and survivors after record midweek rains killed 131 people and left 23 missing. While the cleanup was under way in the nation’s central region, where 69,000 people were driven from their homes, weather officials issued an alert for up to six inches of rain along the southern coast, site of a major typhoon July 15.
