Santee City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development Start
Cahan/Crisell Properties, an Escondido-based shopping center developer, has received the approval of the Santee City Council to build the first two phases of a planned $100-million mixed-used development at Mission Gorge and Abbeyfield roads in downtown Santee.
The first two phases of the project, known as Willow Pond, will include a supermarket, restaurants, a drug store and several retail shops. Construction will begin by September, with completion expected in the fall of 1988.
The company is also trying to gain City Council approval to build 164 town houses and as many as 542 condominiums at the site. The application is pending and no construction date has been set, a Cahan/Crisell spokesman said.
