On the Lack of Commitment

Share

The problem of romance today is not really that there is anything terribly wrong with the people out looking, or their desires, but that our ways of meeting prospective mates are truly and clearly inadequate--for both sexes. Your biased view of “Love Connection” said that this is tough only for women. Men, it seems, love to be told before a live audience and on coast-to-coast TV that they are boring, stupid, obnoxious, too physical, not physical enough, or all of the above. In fact, we all subject our delicate egos to the high probability of a public beating for the small chance of finding someone we might go out with more than twice. That’s how bad things are with our traditional methods of meeting people, and where we really need help.
