Worlds of Wonder said it lost $10.4 million in its first fiscal quarter compared to a loss of $1.3 million a year ago. Donald D. Kingsborough, chairman and chief executive of the Fremont, Calif.-based maker of Teddy Ruxpin and other toys, blamed the loss on late deliveries of several new products, including its Little Boppers interactive preschool toys and its Class Act back-to-school line. Kingsborough said the company’s earnings in fiscal 1988 would be below analysts’ projections of around $29 million.
