Fullerton : One Man Killed As Car Collides With a Truck

A 38-year-old man was killed when his late-model sports car slammed into a tractor-trailer rig westbound on Imperial Highway shortly before midnight Monday. Gregory A. Ribblett of Whittier was traveling about 50 m.p.h. when his car collided with the truck, which had slowed to cross some railroad tracks just west of Bonita Street.
Police said Ribblett, who was not wearing a seat belt, died instantly.
The driver of the truck, Jorge Perez, 31, of Tecate, Mexico, was not injured. Perez was hauling a load of avocados to a local supermarket warehouse.
